Tyler Peterson manages web developers in a medium sized Utah based non-profit since early 2013. Before that he was a web developer, Java developer, and sundry sorts of scripter.
Tyler was born and raised in the Salt Lake Valley in Utah, minus a few years admiring fireflies in Mendota, Illinois. His dad promised every child in the family a computer of their own if they would just keep a decent GPA. It was the perfect motivation. Hacking on those second-hand computers convinced Tyler he’d enjoy it for a living. He went to Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah and got a degree in Computer Engineering, graduating in December of 2005. Over the years he has used Perl, PHP, Python, Java, C, C++, and JavaScript to support his family of 8.
Today Tyler is a front-line manager FamilySearch.org focused on Web Development. He codes mostly in NodeJS to support the people that report to him and to keep up his skills. In his spare time he imagines he would like to get into robotics but he actually watches TV.
